Community groups across south Warwickshire could be in for a cash boost from their local council, but they need to be quick. Local groups have already recently been awarded over £67,000 through the Stratford-on-Avon District Council Community Grants Scheme, which is open to local voluntary and community, not-for-profit groups. Any group interested in applying for a grant has until 1st December to get their application in.

Grants are available for one-off project costs and there is a small amount of this year's grants budget still available for allocation. This is the last opportunity to apply for a community grant in this financial year. For an application form, please contact the helpline on: 01789 260649.

The emphasis is on community projects where a small sum of money can have a big impact. The aim is to make a real difference to smaller groups and strengthen community activity.

The latest round of grants to be awarded through the Stratford-on-Avon District Council Community Grants Scheme are as follows:

£300 to Claverdon Badminton Club towards badminton coaching for adults and children.

£24,850 towards the cost of providing a skate park in Studley.
