The British Red Cross' public appeal, which commenced in response to the July flooding, has enabled Stratford-on-Avon District Council to give an extra £150 to flood victims.

Information provided during the application to Central Governmental for grants earlier in the year, has enabled the District Council to assess households that have been particularly damaged and therefore set up criteria by which to be compared in order to highlight those who have been worst affected.

Particularly badly affected households will be contacted over the next few of weeks and receive a cheque. To find out if you have been successful with regards to a further grant, please contact Robert Walsh, Head of Community Services.

"In August, the Executive decided to issue £250 to every household that was affected by the summer floods. However, with this additional funding, we are now able to target those households that were worst affected." Says Chris Williams, Community Services Portfolio Holder.
