Swimming will feature highly over the next few weeks, with a number of our District Primary schools competing against each other.

The annual swimming event, organised by Stratford-on-Avon District Council, will see the schools compete in one of four 'Regional' galas around the District to reach the Grand Finals night at Stratford Leisure & Visitor Centre on Saturday 31st March 2007.

The four regional galas will take place at the District Council's four Leisure Centre's, Stratford Leisure & Visitor Centre, Shipston, Southam and Studley. Teams of girls and boys will swim it out for a chance to represent the region in the Gold, Silver and Bronze race at the Grand Final.

Due to the high number of schools entered in the Stratford regional gala, two mixed ability Stratford teams, Seals and Dolphins, will be formed allowing more swimmers to make it to the final.

This year, a total of 42 out of 58 of the District Primary schools will take part. This is more than last year and represents an improvement by The District Council's Sports Development Team in encouraging higher levels of participation.
