A public inquiry starts next week on Tuesday 31 July, following an appeal by South Warwickshire Housing Association against the development of land south of Barton Road, Welford-on-Avon.

The appeal relates to a planning application for the erection of 17 dwellings, access road, car parking and associated infrastructure works on land south of Barton Road, Welford-on-Avon.

Stratford-on-Avon District Council has refused the application on the grounds of not being a small-scale scheme, having significant local objection, being contrary to the housing 'moratorium', not making full use of available 'brownfield' sites and not mixing affordable and local market homes adequately through the site.

The inquiry, expected to last for 3 days, will be held at the Council Offices, Elizabeth House, Church Street, Stratford-upon-Avon starting at 10am.  A Government Planning Inspector will preside over the inquiry.

Members of the public may attend the inquiry and express their view - at the discretion of the inspector.
