The British Red Cross' public appeal, which commenced in response to the July flooding, has enabled Stratford-on-Avon District Council to give an extra £150 to some flood victims.

Information collected from applicants for previous flood grants earlier in the year has enabled the District Council to access vulnerable individuals and families.

Those who will be eligible for additional funding are:
·        over 75,
·        have children under the age of 5, or
·        are on means tested benefits.

Some of the funding will also be available to community groups.

Eligible individuals will be contacted over the next few weeks. To find out if you have been successful with regards to a further grant, please contact Robert Walsh, Head of Community Services.

"In August, the Executive decided to issue £250 to every household that was affected by the summer floods. However, with this additional funding, we are now able to target those who need it most." Says Chris Williams, Community Services Portfolio Holder.
