Stratford-on-Avon District Council's Liquor Licensing Panel Councillors met on Friday 31 October to review the Premises Licence for Oscar's Bar, Meer Street, Stratford-upon-Avon.

Following the review, the District Council's licensing panel of elected members have reduced the licensing hours, from 10:00am to 7:00am to 10:00am to 2:30am. Additionally 19 conditions were placed on the premises licence.
The review had been called for by a Neighbouring Hotel, following persistent complaints of people and noise from the premises and was supported by the Police and local residents.

The owners of the premises have 21 days to appeal this decision before the reduction of hours comes into force.
"In issues such as licensing, the District Council plays a mediatory role between partner authorities, such as the police, as well as residents and local business owners," says Councillor Mike Brain Chair of the Liquor Licensing Panel.

"The District Council relies on its residents to call the out of hours' service number to notify us of excess noise, such as this case."

Stratford-on-Avon District Council's out of hours' service is provided by ARCA Angels for licence violations and noise complaint can be contacted on 01789 414066 and takes calls from 5:00pm until 9:00am.

Anti-social behaviour or violence should be reported to the police.

A copy of the licence and conditions can be requested from the licensing department of Stratford-on-Avon District Council by calling 01789 260867.
