New high-tech facilities have been added to the upgraded Stratford-on-Avon District Councils CCTV hub.

Stratford-on-Avon District Councils CCTV control room*, which has been externally accredited for good management, now has the benefit of Synectics Digital recording equipment, digital playback software, new monitors and an extra CCTV operators position.

The equipment allows partners and the Police to view the CCTV cameras without disrupting the real-time service by providing almost instant playback of incidents, allowing for quicker review of incidents. For the Police; this enables a quicker offender identification process.

Ready for expansion, the District council is in negotiation with businesses to provide further protection to Stratford town.

"Keeping people safe is of great importance for the District Council," says Councillor Chris Williams, portfolio holder for Community Services.

"While we know that the managed services from the CCTV control room here in Stratford is nationally recognised, this new equipment now allows controllers and the Police to target individual occurrences with real accuracy and in a quicker time this is great news for Stratford residents and visitors."
