Students from Stratford-upon-Avon Grammar School for Girls and residents from Melville House and Briar Croft, Sheltered Housing schemes in Stratford-upon-Avon, will be singing from the same hymn sheet at an Intergenerational Project concert next Monday 23 March at 2.45pm.

The concert will see four songs being sung by groups made up of both students and residents complete with costumes and props and a panel of judges will vote for the winning song in an Opportunity Knocks meet X Factor style talent show.

The event is a joint project between Stratford District Council and Orbit Heart of England Housing Association together with Stratford Grammar School for Girls as the Students take part as their commitment to active citizenship.

The District Council is keen to promote relationships between opposite ends of the age spectrum to promote greater understanding.  Other activities undertaken through this project have included: card making; flower arranging and games where students helped residents get to grip with the Nintendo Wii.
