Shipston High School was victorious recently when they were crowned champions in the new County Cup tournament organised by Stratford-on-Avon District Council and Emma Kerry, the competitions manager from North Warwickshire.

Both of the Shipston High School under 15 and 16 teams won their age groups at Stratford-on-Avon secondary schools basketball tournament without dropping a single point against any of their opponents. They were obviously well drilled and played some brilliant basketball.

As this was the first year for this County Cup Competition it started with the best two teams from the north and the best two teams from the south competing against each other.

Shipston went into this tournament full of confidence and proceeded to play in that way.  A lot of their success is due to their PE teacher Tony Meeking, who has put a lot of time and effort in to making them the winning teams that they have become.
