Flooding advice at Shipston & Stour Community Forum

Want to know more about flood prevention?  Well you can at the next Shipston and Stour Community Forum meeting taking place on Thursday 25 February at Shipston High School at 7pm.

One of the main topics for discussion will be 'Flooding A Partnership Approach' where there will be a guest speaker from the Environment Agency plus an information stand with information on flood prevention.

Councillor Mike Brain, Chairman for Shipston and Stour Community Forum: "Protecting the local environment is one of the District Councils priorities.  However, the problems that cause flooding are often complex to solve and involve the help and co-operation of residents, landowners and professional bodies and that is why I would encourage local residents to attend the next Community Forum to have their say about problems in their area and also how you can take action to prevent it.  It is important that we continue to work together with our partners to try and minimise the impact of flooding in the town and the surrounding areas."

There's also the usual questions and discussion from the floor and sharing information from other organisations.  Do come along, join in and have your say.

If you have a specific concern or problem, then drop in to the local surgery from 6.30pm to 7pm where you will be able to speak to your Safer Neighbourhoods Policing Team, Councillors and Officers from Warwickshire County and Stratford-on-Avon District Councils.

Community Forums are an interactive event enabling residents to learn about issues big and small affecting their area, get answers to questions and influence local decision-making. Anyone with a question about a local issue can go along and put it to officers from a range of organisations.
