Stratford-on-Avon District Council has opened a temporary tourist information centre at Stratford Leisure & Visitor Centre today, Thursday 1 April 2010.

Following South Warwickshire tourism closing its doors to tourists yesterday, visitors to Stratford-upon-Avon will be able to find out all the usual information about what to see and do in Stratford and the surrounding area and where to stay.

Local businesses including The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust have been rallying round to provide up-to-date information and leaflets at the new information point. Open top bus staff will be based in the leisure centre so that business as usual can be conducted and Stagecoach will also be operating from the first floor at The Gallery at the Leisure Centre.

There is also a selection of leaflets at the District Council's HQ at Elizabeth House, Church Street, Stratford-upon-Avon.

In addition working with the Strat>Forward's town hosts who will be in and around the town providing information and advice to visitors.
