A new leaflet promoting flexible transport solutions to residents in the Stour Area, which centres on Shipston and the surrounding villages, will be circulated this week.

The aim of the project is to promote the variety of flexible transport solutions, including bus and mini bus services and volunteer car schemes which should mean residents of in this area who do not have regular use of a car are able to meet regular social commitments and medical appointments.

Research shows that the large majority of Community Transport operators have the capacity to carry more passengers each week and would benefit from wider promotion of their services.  Stratford-on-Avon District Council's Vision for Stour Group has worked with the Council's own Policy Team and Warwickshire County Council's Transport Team to complete the leaflet which showcases the variety of flexible transport solutions which are available to residents of the Stour area.

The Vision for Stour group is made up of community volunteers who meet to drive projects which will have a positive impact on the economic, environmental and community life of the Stour area.  The group meets regularly and always welcomes new members; get in touch with the Community Area Coordinator on 01789 260637 for more information.

Residents of Stour area should look out for their own copy of the leaflet in the Midweek around the 22nd June.
