Stratford-on-Avon District Council works closely with neighbouring authorities, particularly in Warwickshire, when preparing its plans.
Stratford on-Avon District Council is a member of the Coventry, Warwickshire and Hinckley & Bosworth Joint Committee for Economic Growth and Prosperity. The Joint Committee brings together a number of local authorities to address issues concerning economic development, regeneration and strategic planning. Rugby Borough Council maintains an archive of the agendas, minutes and reports from the meetings of the Joint Committee.
Stratford-on-Avon District Council is one of 14 local authorities within the Greater Birmingham Housing Market Area. The authorities are working together to monitor the delivery of homes to ensure that the housing needs of the sub-region are met.
Consultants were also appointed to undertake a Strategic Growth Study to consider how the shortfall in housing arising across the Housing Market Area may be accommodated via the statutory local plan-making processes. More information about the context and purpose of the study can be found in the February 2018 Position Statement.
For the avoidance of doubt, the study is an independently prepared, objective report and not a policy statement. It does not in any way commit the participating authorities, including Stratford-on-Avon District Council, to the development of any of the geographic areas referred to, nor does it exclude the testing of other alternatives. It provides evidence to inform plan-making through the statutory local plan review process in due course. It is published for information and has not been formally endorsed by Stratford-on-Avon District Council.
