New revised refuse and recycling collection schedule

Released on 8 January 2010

The severe weather conditions are hampering the collection of rubbish and recycling from homes across the whole district and we apologise for any inconvenience caused by the disruption.

New collection dates are shown on the table below and to help you please be guided by your normal collection day and zone. If you are unsure of these details please visit the online collection calendar.

Because of the delays the crews will collect up to three additional sacks of waste during this catch up period only. Any additional waste needs to be securely tied in black bags and placed next to the bin.

There are still many areas which cannot be accessed safely by the collection vehicles so if we are unable to collect from your property on the days shown on the table this material will be taken on your next normal collection day. This is so we can keep to the collection dates as shown on the table and avoid further disruption to other residents who are still waiting for a collection.

I live in Gaydon and believe my recycle bin should have been collected today (Sat 9th) as per you revised schedule issued on the 8th January. Did something happen and when will it now be collected please?

katy biggs on 10 January 2010 at 14:08

i'm very confused as to when my recycling will be collected, i live in lighthorne heath, zone 2, i can't see it on the revised schedule, i thought it was supposed to be done on friday the 8th but can understand due to weather this was not possible, it is now sunday and don't know when it will be collected!!??

Mark Simons on 10 January 2010 at 15:55

why can't you make it simple i cannot find monday 11 for studley wether it has changed or has it gone back to normal dates

e adams on 10 January 2010 at 17:52

Not very helpful. Tells me I am Zone 2, but there is no Stratford zone 2 on the revised collection calender. Recyling should have been collected last Monday. Xmas and Snow hampered collection but what do we put out tomorrow as it is now refuse collected day?

diane dodge on 10 January 2010 at 20:52

my bin not collected as promised on sat 9th When can i expect collection in oversley green zone 1. Bin overflowing.no black sacks i'm disabled and cant get to shops

B Readman on 11 January 2010 at 09:35

I live in Bishops Itchington Zone 2 when will the bins be emptied please realise with the weather and road conditions it is not easy but your schedule does not have this village on it and are we Zone2 Kineton or Southam

Anita Law on 11 January 2010 at 09:50

Acording to your schedule the green and blue topped bins were to be picked up from the Shipston area, zone 2, on Sat 9th Jan. Our bins wre out and have not been touched. When are we likely to get those recycling bins picked up? We live in Stourton.

Ian McIntyre on 11 January 2010 at 10:45

Not very helpful! Given that this information is wrong for Kineton 2 I rang the collection dept to listen to a recorded message that said nothing about Kineton and then referred me to this web site "which is updated regularly". Not regularly enough! Out of date or incorrect information is worse than nothing.

Sam Moxon on 11 January 2010 at 10:46

I live on Hardwick Lane near to Studley Castle and haven't had the general refuse bin emptied since the 21st December, according to your latest update it's not due to be collected before the 18th Jan and by then we will have more than a three bag overflow, the recycling bin hasn't been collected since the 14th December and I don't believe is due to be collected before the 25th Jan. I realise the weather has been difficult but when you see daily deliveries going to the hotel at the castle it is difficult to see why collections have not been made.

Terry Warner on 11 January 2010 at 11:48

The above Chart is very badly designed. People should be able to pick their zone from a left hand column the next column should say normal day and the third column revised day. There could be two Charts, one Blue and one Grey

John round on 11 January 2010 at 11:50

From your revised list I understand that our recycling bin at Whichford should have been collected on Saturday 9th January. I appreciate the problems caused by the weather but would appreciate an indication of when it might be emptied.

Paul on 11 January 2010 at 11:54

What's the point of allowing the public to post comments when the Council seemingly does not monitor the comments or respond to them?

Simon Swain on 11 January 2010 at 12:02

We're in zone 2 Wednesday (Shotteswell); so surprised to see a collection vehicle go by today.

Iain Sionnach on 11 January 2010 at 12:07

I'm sure the website will be updated just as soon as more accurate information is available on collection arrangements.

paul buckley on 11 January 2010 at 12:54

this info is great but I live in Bps Itchington and zone 2 on checking you are not informed which area

Mr & Mrs D.J.Moore on 11 January 2010 at 13:28

We have been disappointed that the rubbish collections have been delayed to this extent. We understand the weather conditions have made things difficult but when buses, oil delivery lorries, dog loo collections etc have been reaching us, non-collection (once main routes were clear) is difficult to understand. We hope this is not just a case of the "Risk Assessment" culture being out of control: if so I must ask what will be done if we have several weeks of this weather as with 1963. A 'Plan B' is required.

Debbie on 11 January 2010 at 13:50

Shipston were supposed to have their recycling collected on saturday 9th january. Still our bin remains full with a large black bin liner full again nect to it. When will they be arriving to collect this?

David Strickland on 11 January 2010 at 14:12

The information about revised collections does not mean anything to residents of Tysoe as we are not mentioned , I realise that conditions are difficult but this chart is worse than useless.

darren on 11 January 2010 at 14:40

I live in lower quinton and your calendar said my rubbish would be collected today(Monday) but it wasn't. Does this mean that my full bin will now stay full with more having to be kept loose or inside for another 2 weeks? I have tried to call but I only get the phone message that wasn't very helpful.

Merrett on 11 January 2010 at 14:54

I find your chart for new collection dates above very confusing.Im not sure what the dates in the far left hand column mean. I live in stretton on fosse and normal date for colection is Monday 11th Jan according to the calender . Is the calender still correct?

Kirsty Denby on 11 January 2010 at 16:08

This is a joke. No bin collection in arrow since 23rd December. Now the council say it will be JANUARY 20TH. Lets hope the tied blag bags dont get opened by foxes/crows and litter the village. apparently the road was "too dangerous" on saturday! Not impressed at all

Denise Mumford on 11 January 2010 at 16:15

I am very confused as to when our recycling is being collected according to the above it should have been collected on Saturday 8th? or am I wrong I live in Shipston.Am I correct in thinking that they are collecting the normal rubbish on Wednesday 13th please can you confirm.

Dave Neale on 12 January 2010 at 09:32

I live in Temple Herdewyke Zone 2, Wednesday collections. I have been told that general refuse will be Thursday this week and they are now not going to try and play catch up with the recycling so that will commence again as usual next Wednesday. I hope this is of use for anyone reading this :)
