Over 60 young people and parents attended Stratford-on-Avon District Council's public meeting last Thursday 22nd July at the District Council's head office in Stratford-upon-Avon to discuss the future of Stratford Skate Park
The meeting was arranged by Council officials following the removal of the old wooden ramps after a recent independent inspection recommended removal, to discuss the options on a new layout and proposed replacement equipment.
During a lively and productive meeting chaired by Cllr Mike Brain, Community Services Portfolio holder, a number of new designs and layouts were discussed with the skate park users.
Following constructive feedback on new layout designs, a small steering group was selected from the users and a further meeting with Council officers was agreed. This meeting will develop detailed design options within a limited budget. These will then be put to a public vote via the District Council's Facebook page.
