Released on 28 July 2010
Sports Leisure Management, SLM, has been successful in retaining the contract to manage Stratford-on-Avon District Council's four leisure centres in Stratford-upon-Avon, Shipston, Southam and Studley.
The new contract will be for seven years with a potential 3 year extension and will see investment in new fitness equipment across the contract and a gym extension at Stratford Leisure & Visitor Centre (SLVC).
Cllr Mike Brain Community Services Portfolio said: "This marks the start of an exciting period for the District Council and SLM relationship with a major refurbishment of the fitness suite at Stratford Leisure and Visitor Centre starting imminently. The new contract has also created the position of an Active Communities Manager, a position that will be responsible for developing greater links with the District Council's sports development team."
Pete Williams Contract Manager said: "This is one of SLM's longest standing contracts and we are delighted to have retained it. SLM is committed to encouraging everyone to participate in 30-minutes of activity 5 times each week through its Everyone Active brand. The company has recently launched its new website that provides customers with downloads of activity planners, the ability to register for a free Everyone Active card and on-line booking services."
