At Stratford-on-Avon District Council, we are committed to promote recycling and make it as easy as possible for all of our residents.

If you are unable to travel to charity shops or household waste recycling centres, or you're just not sure what to do with all your old items, take a look at this list of charities across the UK that will take donations.

Anglo Doorstep Collections

The charity offer a free charity collection service right from your doorstep.

They accept a variety of items, which are carefully sorted and distributed to those in need.

All you need to do is book your collection, by picking a charity to support and selecting a date that best suits you.

Pack your donations into bags or boxes - make sure to check what they can and cant accept.

Have the donations ready on the day and their driver will collect from your doorstep.

British Heart Foundation

The BHF pick up furniture and electrical items from your home for free.

The items you donate are then sold in their furniture stores to help fund lifesaving research.

The BHF also offer a free postal service for smaller items that you no longer need.

Dogs Trust

Every rehoming centre has a contact-free drop off point where you are able to drop off your donations.

Your pre-loved items can be used in their rehoming centres, by other dogs.

Please make sure that all items are cleaned before donating, so that they are safe to give to the dogs.

The Bike Project

The charity takes second-hand bikes, fixes them and donates them to refugees and people seeking asylum in London and Birmingham.

Find your nearest drop-off point, register you bike and arrange a time to drop your bike off.

Against Breast Cancer

The charity has a bra recycling scheme. They take your unwanted or unloved bras and raise funds for breast cancer research.

Their textile recovery project prevents bras from going to landfill by giving them a new lease of life.

For every tonne of bras that are collected, the charity receives £700 to fund their research.
