If you would be interested in pre-buying parking credit for Stratford-on-Avon car then the Stratford Card could be for you...
What is Stratford Card?
The Stratford Card is a card that can be purchased by anyone for a one-off fee of £2.00. It allows you to pre-load parking credits on it, enabling you to use it to park in any of the Stratford District Council town centre Pay and Display car parks except for the Recreation Ground car park. (Please note: this also excludes the Bridgeway multi-storey and Bridgeway surface pay on foot car parks) .
When you purchase your card for £2.00 there is no monetary value on it. You can then decide how much value ('credit') you wish to put on the card.
What benefits are there of having a Stratford Card?
Every time you place credit on your card you will be given 25% bonus credit. For example:
- If you put £10.00 on your card, the Council will give you a bonus of £2.50, giving you a total parking credit of £12.50
Is there a restriction on the amount of value that I can purchase?
There is an annual limit of £400. The reason for this is that when the 25% bonus if applied, the total value on the card is £500. In this instance, we would advise you to purchase an annual season ticket for £500, which gives unlimited parking in a designated car park for a year.
How do I use the card in a Council Pay a Display car park?
To purchase a pay and display ticket using your Stratford Card, you should follow the instructions below:
- Select the appropriate tariff
- Accept conditions of use
- Present Stratford Card to the card reader
- A Pay and display ticket will be issued
Detailed instructions for using the Stratford Card are clearly marked on the Pay and Display machines within the Council car parks. You will also receive instructions when you apply for the card.
Please note: Due to the installation of new upgraded parking machines, from 1st November 2015, Stratford Cards are no longer accepted as a parking payment method in the Recreation Ground car park.
Where can I buy one?
Stratford Cards are available from the Council office (Elizabeth House, Church Street, Stratford-upon-Avon).
What happens if I lose my card?
If your card is lost then you should report it to the Council as soon as possible as we are unable to refund any credit that is used before the loss is reported. Once notified of the loss, we will stop the card and will issue a replacement card with the remaining credit loaded onto it. Please Note: There is a £2.00 charge for a replacement card. We are not able to issue refunds on any remaining credit on a card.
Can I have a refund for any remaining credit
Depending on circumstances, we may be able to provide refunds for any remaining credit. Please contact the Council, using the cnotact details below if you would like to discuss this.
How do the Civil Enforcement Officers know that I have pre-paid my parking?
When you use your Stratford Card to purchase a Pay and Display ticket, you still need to clearly display a Pay and Display ticket. Any vehicle parked in the car parks without clearly displaying a valid Pay and Display ticket or permit may be liable to the issue of a Penalty Charge Notice.
