Stratford-on-Avon District Sports Awards

Stratford-on-Avon District Sports Awards 2019 logo

The Stratford-on-Avon District Sports Awards, supported by Everyone Active, will be held on Friday 18 January 2019 at Stratford Play House.

The event will recognise the sporting excellence and commitment of individuals and teams and the hard work of coaches, teachers and volunteers across the district in the last twelve months.

Nominations are now live!

To nominate, please complete our online nomination form.

Each nominee must meet one of the following criteria:

  • live in Stratford-on-Avon District
  • attend school or college in Stratford-on-Avon District
  • compete for a club or school/college team in Stratford-on-Avon District
  • work with a club in Stratford-on-Avon District

Nominations can be made in the following ten categories from Monday 12 November until Monday 3 December:

Senior Sports Person Award

Each nominee must have:

  • performed to a high standard in their sport
  • shown great sportsmanship, motivation and determination in their sport
  • been aged 18 or over on the date of the earliest achievement included in the nomination

Junior Sports Person Award

Each nominee must have:

  • performed to a high standard in their sport
  • shown great sportsmanship, motivation and determination in their sport
  • been aged under 18 on the date of the most recent achievement included in the nomination

Senior Para-sports Person Award

Each nominee must have:

  • displayed an outstanding achievement or great sportsmanship, motivation and determination in disability sport
  • been aged 18 or over on the date of the earliest achievement included in the nomination

Junior Para-sports Person Award

Each nominee must:

  • displayed an outstanding achievement or great sportsmanship, motivation and determination in disability sport
  • been under 18 on the date of the most recent achievement included in the nomination

Senior Team Award

Each nominated team (of two or more people) must:

  • have displayed an outstanding achievement in their sport have shown great sportsmanship, motivation and determination in their sport
  • compete in senior competitions or matches

Junior Team Award

Each nominated team (of two or more people) must:

  • have displayed an outstanding achievement in their sport have shown great sportsmanship, motivation and determination in their sport
  • compete in junior competitions or matches

Coach or PE Teacher Award

Each nominee must:

  • have made a major contribution to the lives of people in Stratford-on-Avon District through sports coaching in the last twelve months
  • create a positive, inspiring environment
  • motivate and encourage more people to get involved in sport
  • be viewed as a good role model

Volunteer Award

Each nominee must:

  • have made an outstanding contribution to a sports club or sporting activity within Stratford-on-Avon District through their commitment to volunteering, above and beyond expectations
  • be viewed as a good role model
  • have made a considerable, positive impact towards increasing participation and/or enjoyment in physical activity or a sport

Media Correspondent Award

An individual who:

  • has contributed high quality reports, articles or features to print or online media or radio
  • is a volunteer reporting on behalf of a school, team, club or organisation based in Stratford-on-Avon District

Service to Sport Award

  • The nominee should be an individual who has made an exceptional impact and outstanding contribution to sport in Stratford-on-Avon District over a number of years.
  • The nominee can be connected to a club, school or sporting organisation in Stratford-on-Avon District.
