Gaydon/Lighthorne Heath SPD

New Settlement at Gaydon/Lighthorne Heath

Stratford-on-Avon District Council's adopted Core Strategy sets out the policy basis for the development of a new settlement at Gaydon and Lighthorne Heath (GLH) that will incorporate up to 3,000 new homes and a substantial expansion of Jaguar Land Rover's operations.

The Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) takes the form of a Framework Masterplan to guide developers and the local planning authority in respect of environmental, social, design and economic objectives as they seek to create a new community at Gaydon/Lighthorne Heath.

The SPD looks at:

  • the Gaydon and Lighthorne site and its context
  • site constraints and opportunities
  • vision and principles
  • an illustrative masterplan with key design and sustainability principles
  • delivery

Adopted Gaydon/Lighthorne Heath SPD

Stratford-on-Avon District Council adopted the GLH SPD on 11 July 2016 and has prepared a final SPD document as adopted.
