Draft Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation SPD

Draft Part V of the Development Requirements Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) focuses solely on adaptation and mitigation relating to Climate Change. It is an additional document that will form part of the existing Development Requirements SPD that was adopted in July 2019. Once adopted it will become a material consideration and will be used by Stratford-on-Avon District Council to help reach decisions on whether to approve or refuse planning applications. The section will provide advice and guidance to applicants when submitting planning applications.

Regulation 13 - Statutory Consultation

On Thursday 9 January 2020 the Council started a formal consultation in accordance with the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations. The consultation period ran until Friday 21 February 2020, providing individuals and organisations the opportunity to put forward comments relating to all aspects of the proposed guidance.

The consultation has now closed. The comments can be viewed online using our Consultation Viewer. In accordance with data protection regulations we have redacted signatures, and personal postal and email addresses.

What Happens Next

The comments submitted during the consultation period are being assessed and the SPD will be amended as appropriate prior to adoption at Full Council in July 2020.
