District Council Chairman to attend International Conference in China

Stratford-on-Avon District Council's Chairman, Councillor Christopher Kettle has been invited by the China Cultural Industry Association as their guests, to attend the International Cultural Industry Parks Development Cooperation Forum in China.

The International Cultural Industry Parks Development Cooperation Forum and the Founding Ceremony of International Cultural Industry Parks Development Union will be held in Chaoyang District Beijing Municipality from 15 to 17 June.

The Union aims to improve cultural exchanges and industry cooperation in the region and worldwide, helping to build comprehensive collaborative communications systems to meet the growing demands of an international economy.

It will also showcase the new cultural business opportunities brought by 'The Road and Belt Initiative', which is supported by the Chinese Government.

The Chairman will be travelling to Beijing along with Helen Peters, Chief Executive of Shakespeare's England, who will be showcasing the very best of Stratford-upon-Avon and the surrounding area at the conference.

Cllr Christopher Kettle, Chairman of Stratford-on-Avon District Council said: "This opportunity further strengthens our relationship with our incoming tourists from China and demonstrates the importance tourism is both for the local and world economy."

Helen Peters, Chief Executive of Shakespeare's England said: "Visitors from China are one of the fastest growing source markets to Shakespeare's England and this is a great opportunity to continue to strengthen this relationship."
