Arden Quarter

Stratford-on-Avon District Council is giving artists the opportunity to have their work displayed at one of the gateway entrances to Stratford-upon-Avon.

The District Council is inviting artists to provide expressions of interest and outline proposals for the development and installation of a single artistic piece or series of pieces, to be installed in the pavement along Station Approach, adjacent to the Arden Quarter in Stratford-upon-Avon.

The artwork will need to illustrate the heritage and culture of the town, acknowledge the history of the site (the former Stratford Cattle Market) and contribute to the welcome and information offered to local, national and international visitors to the town arriving by rail.

The deadline for expressions of interest is 5pm on Friday 7 December.

From there a shortlist of three artists will be asked to submit detailed design proposals by 5pm on Wednesday 27 February 2019, with the contract being awarded to the successful artist in March 2019.

For the full details of the Arden Quarter Public Art brief, please contact Ruth Woollacott, Stratford District Council Commission Agent by email ruth@atiprojects.co.uk or visit www.stratford.gov.uk/publicart.

The artwork is scheduled to be installed between April and August next year and open to the public from September 2019.
