Stratford-on-Avon District Council would like to celebrate the commitment of local clubs, groups and individuals and their ability to adapt to the current circumstances.

The past twelve months have been extremely difficult for many people and for long periods sport and physical activity have not been possible, or have been restricted. In these difficult times, sports and physical activity groups have shown their importance to the community, working hard to help people stay active in a variety of ways.

Cllr Ian Shenton, Operations Portfolio says: "With such huge disruption to sport in 2020 we knew that we couldn't go ahead with our usual Sports Awards.  However, it's still important that we recognise the importance our sporting community plays across our District."

The Celebration of Sport is an online showcase of the commitment of individuals, teams, coaches, teachers and volunteers.

We have received stories from clubs and groups who have been helping to support their members and the wider community to stay active throughout the pandemic.  They have adapted to overcome the challenges presented to them throughout the year and enabled people to stay connected.

Contributions were accepted from sports clubs, physical activity groups and schools that are located in the Stratford-on-Avon District, or individuals who live or work with them.
