Stratford-on-Avon District Council has launched a public consultation on a new proposed gym and fitness studio at Studley Leisure Centre.

A recent review of leisure facilities in the district identified a shortfall in publically accessible gyms and fitness studios in the Studley area.  The District Council has successfully secured funding for a project to develop Studley Leisure Centre to create a new gym and fitness studio space and is now seeking views of the public.

Cllr Mike Brain, services for the Community Portfolio says: "It is important that we develop the very best facilities we can for our residents and we want to find out exactly what the public want from their local leisure centre.  We want to hear the public's views to allow us to take the next steps in this process.  The District Council is committed to providing the best possible facilities for our residents so I would urge everyone to get involved in this consultation to help shape our plans."

The proposed plans are on display in the reception area of the leisure centre in Studley and also on-line at https://www.stratford.gov.uk/sport-leisure-arts/leisure-centres.cfm

The questions being asked are:

  • Do you agree that there is a need for publicly accessible gym and fitness studio in Studley?
  • Do you have any suggestions or comments on the design of the gym and fitness studio?
  • Do you have any other comments regarding the project?

The consultation runs from 12noon on Thursday 24 January to 5pm on Wednesday 13 February.

How to Comment:

All public comments and views will be considered in helping design and create new facilities to meet the needs of the public.
