Local leisure centre, Stratford Leisure Centre, has raised over £1,000 by hosting a Super Saturday of group exercise classes to fundraise for the Ukraine Crisis Appeal.

Run in partnership with Stratford-on-Avon District Council, the leisure centre held five, Ukraine themed exercise classes throughout the day on Saturday 2 April including Group Cycling, Body Combat, Body Balance and Body Pump.

Attending members were given the opportunity to donate before and after the classes. The total amount raised of £1231 will be donated to the British Red Cross, for the Ukraine Crisis Appeal.

Alex Fuoco-Lang, Contract Manager at Everyone Active, said: "We wanted to showcase our support for Ukraine and bring the local community together to give everyone an opportunity to donate.

"We thought the Super Saturday was a great idea to allow members and customers to enjoy attending a group fitness class, whilst fundraising for this much needed cause.

"We are absolutely delighted with the amount raise and incredibly grateful to our members for their donations."

Cllr Matt Jennings, Culture, Tourism and Leisure Portfolio at Stratford District Council says: "It is a tremendous achievement to raise such a large sum of money for the Ukrainian Crisis Appeal. Well done to Everyone Active and all those involved in donating to such a worthy cause."
