From Monday 4 July, Church Street Car Park in Stratford-upon-Avon will be reverting to the normal (pre-COVID) operation and will be closed to members of the public between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.

David Buckland, Chief Executive of Stratford-on-Avon District Council said: "During COVID and the 'stay a home advice', staff, Councillors and our tenants at Elizabeth House didn't come into the office to work, so it made sense to open up the car park during this time.

"We know many people appreciated this additional parking facility at this end of the town, however, as operations return to 'normal' and we go back to the office, we have taken the decision to revert to the normal operations for this car park.

"Church Street Car Park will, therefore, be available to members of the public after 4pm on weekdays, on weekends and Bank Holidays only."

The District Council provides ten car parks with more than 2,800 parking spaces in Stratford-upon-Avon town centre, with signs on all approach roads and throughout the town to guide users to the Council's car parks.

  • Arden Street
  • Bridgeway Multi-Storey
  • Bridgeway Surface
  • Church Street - evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays only
  • Guild Street - disabled parking only
  • Leisure Centre
  • Recreation Ground
  • Sheep Street, rear access - disabled parking only
  • Swans Nest Lane
  • Windsor Street Multi-Storey

The two car parks at Bridgeway are barrier controlled, ticketless ANPR car parks and also offer up to one hour free.  All other District Council car parks are pay and display (card payments only, no cash) and charges apply 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

All District Council car parks are situated within a five-minute walk of the town centre.
