Community Safety Event at Meon Vale

Residents in Meon Vale will have the opportunity to meet with community safety teams from the police, fire, local Councils, developers and housing associations at an event at the Village Hall.

The event on Saturday 26 March, which will take place between 1pm and 3pm, has been organised by Meon Vale Residents Association, in response to requests from local residents to learn of initiatives to support community safety and raise any concerns.

There will be an opportunity to meet with local policing teams providing security advice; community safety and rural crime teams from Stratford-on-Avon District Council and Warwickshire County Council with crime prevention advice; road safety from Warwickshire Highways, and a chance to meet with local councillors and representatives from Platform Housing and St Modwens.

Residents will also have the opportunity of FREE bike marking and a FREE 'Dr Bike' safety check as well as FREE van and shed alarms being given away on the day.

There will be FREE hot and cold drinks and biscuits available in the Village Hall, courtesy of Meon Vale Residents Association.

Cllr Jo Barker, Homes, Health and Wellbeing Portfolio says: "These events are a great way for the community to come together, with advisors on hand from many organisations offering help and advice.  It is essential that communities feel safe and supported, and have the opportunity to confidently address any issues or concerns.

"This event brings the community together empowering them to know how and where to report issues affecting them to improve their safety and wellbeing and I do hope people find the time to attend."

The event is supported by Meon Vale Support Partnership which includes Warwickshire County and Stratford-on-Avon District Councillors; the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Warwickshire; Marston-Sicca and Quinton Parish Councils; officers from Stratford-on-Avon, Wychavon District and Warwickshire County Councils; St Modwen Homes; Meon Vale Residents Association; local church and community groups and local housing associations, working collaboratively to support the continued development of Meon Vale as a resilient, self-supporting community.
