Stratford-on-Avon District Council is holding two drop-in sessions as part of its consultation on additional specific proposals that the Council thinks appropriate to include in its Site Allocations Plan.

The sessions will be held on Tuesday 5 March from 1pm to 5pm and Wednesday 13 March from 9am to 1pm at Elizabeth House in Stratford-upon-Avon. They will give members of the public the chance to ask questions or comment in person on the four parts of the consultation document, which cover:

  • Part 1 - Birthplace/Gateway Cultural Quarter, Stratford-upon-Avon. The rejuvenation of this area of town with a co-ordinated approach to the land between Arden Street and Henley Street to improve the public realm with a greater mix of leisure-led uses.
  • Part 2 - Quinton Rail Technology Centre. To support the Quinton Rail Technology Centre and develop the economic potential of the site.
  • Part 3 - A46 Safeguarding. To allow future improvements to the route when funding is available.
  • Part 4 - Employment Exception Sites. Providing more employment sites within the district. The consultation process runs until 5pm on Monday 18 March - all comments must be received before this deadline.

As well as the drop-in sessions, you can also comment by:

The consultation document can be viewed at www.stratford.gov.uk/siteallocations and is also available to inspect at Elizabeth House. Copies of the document can be obtained from the District Council.

What happens next?

The District Council will take any comments received into account in the preparation of the 'Submission' version of the plan, which will then be subject to a further six weeks' consultation to enable interested parties to make representations on its 'soundness'.

The plan itself, together with all representations, will then be submitted to the Secretary of State for examination. If it is found 'sound' by an independent planning inspector, it can then be formally adopted by the District Council.
