On Monday 23 May, Stratford-on-Avon District Council's Cabinet adopted the Avon Dassett Parish Plan.

The plan will now be taken into account in deciding planning applications in the parish and act as a blueprint for the future of the parish defined by the community itself.

Avon Dassett's original Parish Plan was adopted in 2007, and in 2021 Avon Dassett set out to create a new Parish Plan.

Parish Plans provide communities with a framework for the present and plan for the future.

Cllr Daren Pemberton, Place and Economy Portfolio says: "The Avon Dassett Parish Plan is a plan which puts the feelings of the residents first and is in keeping with the Core Strategy and other planning policy documents.  It is a useful tool for residents and developers in the area, as it concisely brings together information relevant to Avon Dassett from other primary documents.

"The action plan suitably addresses the concerns raised throughout the Parish Plan and is consistent and in general conformity with the policy framework established by the Core Strategy and the National Planning Policy Framework."
