Stratford -on-Avon is pleased to announce the appointment of Isabel Edgar Briançon to Executive Director (Head of Paid Service). Isabel's appointment was approved at full council on 16th July and she will join the leadership team in November 2018.

Isabel Edgar Briançon is currently Assistant Director at Aylesbury Vale District Council and has been there for 10 years.

In her current role she is responsible for Business Support and Enablement including corporate resources such as IT, Finance, Procurement and Contact Management, as well as the operational delivery of key customer facing services such as Waste services, Commercial Fleet, Parking and Street Scene services.

Isabel Edgar Briançon says: "I am really looking forward to my new role at Stratford-on-Avon District Council and joining the Council at this pivotal time in its transformation programme.  I am passionate about changing the way we 'do' local government in these challenging times. Delivering services with our customers and community at the heart requires embracing new ways of working and collaborating to bring about this change.

"Exciting times are ahead with new opportunities on the horizon to further develop and transform the excellent services already offered by the Council.

"Alongside the SDC leadership team, my aim is also to build on the partnerships with enterprise and community organisations to ensure that the District maximises the opportunities to support development and infrastructure in a sustainable way."

Isabel's early career path began in web development and graphic design, but she spent all of her spare time volunteering with environmental and community groups. It made sense then to return to education and retrain in Environmental Science and her job then became her passion. Working for a number of years in waste management, she developed key infrastructure for the council and transformed the waste services moving the council from being in the bottom 5 worst performing councils in England into the top 20.

In 2016 she got the business transformation bug and has been instrumental in delivering a root and branch makeover of Aylesbury Vale District Council alongside the leadership team for the past two years.

Cllr Tony Jefferson, Leader of Stratford-on-Avon District Council says: "I am delighted that Isabel is joining the District Council.  Isabel brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in transformation and will be a welcome addition to the leadership team.  This is a key appointment for the District Council for delivering council services and achieving our aspirations in the future."
