Stratford-on-Avon District Council's Cabinet has today, Monday 23 April adopted Warmington and Arlescote Parish Plan.

This means that that the Parish Plan will now be taken into account in deciding planning applications in the parish - acting as a blueprint for the future of the parish as defined by the community.

Parish Plans are community-led projects that involve identifying and surveying the assets, needs, opportunities, problems and solutions of a community.  They provide communities with a framework to take stock for the present and plan for the future.

The initial survey was undertaken in 2010 with further survey work and a draft plan consulted on during 2015, before the District Council received the final version in November 2017.

Cllr Stephen Thirlwell, Deputy Leader of Stratford-on-Avon District Council says: "This is a very constructive Parish Plan, most worthy of our support.  It is another good example of how a community can prepare a Plan with guidance and assistance from the Local Planning Authority, which will provide both a good source of local information and a sound basis, through the associated Action Plan, to address the needs and aspirations of the community."
