The Red Horse District by-election will take place on Thursday 9 March with polling stations at:

  • The Parish Church, Whatcote
  • Farnborough Village Hall
  • Shotteswell Village Hall
  • Tysoe Village hall
  • The Reading Room, Avon Dassett
  • Oxhill Methodist Chapel
  • Radway Village Hall
  • Warmingtom Village Hall
  • Ratley Village Hall

 

The candidates for the by-election are as follows:

John Henry Christopher Feilding       -        The Conservative Party Candidate

Edward Leslie Fila                         -        UKIP

Pat Hotson                                 -        Green Party

Philip Peter John Vial                     -        Liberal Democrat

 

All eligible electors are encouraged to vote and polling stations will open from 7am to 10pm.

Counting will take place after close of polls at Tysoe Village Hall. The result will be posted on the District Council website and posted on Twitter @SDCElects.

The by-election has been called due to the resignation of District Councillor Bart Dalla Mura

Present standings on the District Council are:

  • 1 vacancy (Red Horse by-election)
  • Conservatives - 29 seats
  • Liberal Democrats – 4 seats
  • Labour – 1 seat
  • Independent – 1 seat

36 seats in total


Poll Cards will be sent out in the middle of February to electors in the Red Horse Ward.

For electors who wish to apply for a postal vote for this election, the deadline is 5pm on Wednesday 22February. The deadline for proxy vote applications is slightly later on Wednesday 1 March at 5pm.
