Stratford-on-Avon District Council has issued a Temporary Stop Notice (TSN) in respect of development of land at Dovehouse Drive / Loxley Road, Wellesbourne by Persimmon Homes.

Planning permission currently exists for the construction of 80 homes on the site following an appeal decision, subject to conditions.

Although details have been submitted to discharge the conditions, works have commenced on site prior to the Council considering the details.

A Temporary Stop Notice has been served to require all works on site to cease and prevent any further unauthorised work on site.

Robert Weeks, Head of Environment and Planning says: “The formal action taken was considered necessary and expedient due to the potential harm to protected species, archaeology, highway safety and residential amenity."

  • The Temporary Stop Notice was issued on Tuesday 21 July 2015.
  • A Temporary Stop Notice only lasts for 28 days at which time the Council will need to consider whether to take further action.
  • The District Council has already taking enforcement action against another development by Persimmon Homes at Milestone Road, Stratford-upon-Avon - 13/01342/FUL.
