Members at Stratford Leisure Centre are being given the opportunity to enjoy the first swim sessions in its newly refurbished pools, as part of an exclusive preview event on Friday 10th July 2015.
The day will begin with a ceremonial re-opening of the centre's two pools, including the cutting of a ribbon by Councillor Mike Gittus, Chairman of Stratford-on-Avon District Council. Three member-only swim sessions will also take place throughout the day, giving people an opportunity to try out both the main pool and teaching pool for the very first time.
The event follows seven months of on-going refurbishment at the centre, which is due to finish its third and final phase in September 2015. The event will mark the end of phase two of the centre's £5million transformation, which has seen renovation works be carried out on the main 33metre swimming pool and shallow teaching pool. A new 340m sq changing village with disabled facilities and a new sauna and steam room have also been installed.
The preview event on the 10th will take place ahead of the official pool reopening on the following day, Saturday 11th July 2015, which will give the general public the opportunity to swim for free during three hour-long swim sessions at the following times:
- 14:00 – 15:00
- 15:00 – 16:00
- 16:00 – 17:00
*Due to popularity, attendees to the pool re-opening opening on the 11th July 2015 are advised to arrive early for their chosen session to avoid disappointment.

Our members have been incredibly supportive of the refurbishment and we wanted to show our appreciation by giving them an exclusive first swim in the pools. The official opening on the Saturday will then be open to the general public to come along and experience the facilities for free. The centre is looking fantastic and we're extremely excited about the latest developments in the refurbishment."
