A public inquiry starts tomorrow, Tuesday 28 April, following an appeal by Charles Church Developments Ltd against the development of land East of Rogers Lane for 80 houses.

The appeal relates to proposals for the construction of 80 dwellings including site access, public open space, balancing pond and other ancillary and enabling works together with the demolition of existing building on site submitted under planning application reference 14/00118/OUT

Stratford-on-Avon District Council refused the planning application on the following grounds:

  • Detrimental impact on character and visual amenity of the area
  • Harm to the setting of a nearby listed building
  • Lack of S106 agreement
  • Cumulative impact of the scale of development

The inquiry, expected to last for 6 days, will be held at Ettington Community Centre, Rogers Lane, Ettington, CV37 7SX starting at 10am.  A Government Planning Inspector will preside over the inquiry.

Members of the public may attend the inquiry and express their view – at the discretion of the inspector.

Planning Inspectorate Reference: APP/J3720/A/14/2227958.
