*ABSENT VOTES – postal or proxy vote (when someone votes on your behalf) - Electoral Registration moved from Household registration to individual registration in June 2014. All electors were matched against DWP records and those confirmed at their addresses were sent a letter confirming their status as individually registered. Those that didn't match were sent an 'Invitation to Register' form to get them individually registered. Those that have not replied to these forms (a reminder and a personal visit were made) do not lose their right to vote in the May election but have lost their right to an absent vote. To be able to be granted an absent vote they must register to vote individually, this can be done by visiting www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
