A public inquiry takes place tomorrow, on Wednesday 4 March, following an appeal by Ainscough Strategic Land against the decision of Stratford-on-Avon District Council to refuse outline planning permission for the development of land at north of Campden Road, Shipston-on-Stour.

The appeal relates to proposals for the construction of 143 residential dwellings and 72 Extra Care apartments and any associated highway, landscape and engineering works submitted under planning application reference 14/00318/OUT

Stratford-on-Avon District Council refused the planning application on landscape impact and visual harm. However, following an appeal for this site being allowed in respect of the provision of a supermarket, petrol station and extra care units, on Monday 23 February (application reference 12/00403/OUT), the District Council have reviewed the case and taken legal advice and concluded that they will no longer be defending the appeal.

The inquiry, will however, open as scheduled but is expected to last for only 1 day and will be held at Ettington Community Centre, Rogers Lane, Ettington CV37 7SX starting at 10am.  A Government Planning Inspector will preside over the inquiry.

Members of the public may attend the inquiry and express their view – at the discretion of the inspector.

Planning Inspectorate Reference: APP/J3720/A/14/2221748.
