On Saturday 14 March, Stratford Town Walk and Bancroft Cruisers, supported by Stratford upon Avon Town Mayor, Councillor Ian Fradgley are putting on a fund-raising 'Walking, Floating, Amphibious Adventure' with all proceeds being donated to support Shakespeare's Celebrations.

This unique occasion will start in the Town Hall, Stratford upon Avon, where participants will be officially welcomed by the Mayor, provided with light refreshments and a photograph opportunity while being entertained by Mel Harvey, a Member of the Magic Circle.

Once refreshed, those assembled, will be taken to the Bancroft Cruiser's boat, The Rita Ellen, which will be waiting to take them on  a relaxing cruise on the River Avon to see its abundance of wildlife, providing a delightful backdrop to charm the senses.  An entertaining commentary will be provided during the cruise, along with a warming cup of tea/coffee.

Finally, they'll be met by a Stratford Town Walk guide for an entertaining stroll around the ancient streets, taking in stories of fire, flood, plague, medieval cures, old-fashioned sayings, history, a little Shakespeare and one or two ghost stories.

Additional funding to host the celebrations is required and what better time to help achieve this than during English Tourism Week. English Tourism Week (14 - 22 March) is a week-long celebration of events, showcasing the quality and vibrancy of visitor experiences and the value the tourism industry brings to our nation.

Increasing awareness of tourism, it allows local residents to discover the delights of attractions on their doorstep and visitor from further afield who can experience England, its variety, accessibility and value.  HRH The Prince of Wales is the Patron of English Tourism Week
