A public inquiry starts next week on Wednesday 2 April 2014, following an appeal by Mr Craig Vinson for the use of land at Briar Close Nursery at Moreton-in-the-Marsh for one gypsy pitch.

The appeal relates to a planning application for the use of land for the positioning of caravans for residential purposes for 1 gypsy pitch together with the formation of additional hard standing and utility/dayroom ancillary refused under application 13/00423/FUL

Stratford-on-Avon District Council / West Oxfordshire District Council has refused the application on the following grounds:

  1. Adverse landscape impact
  2. Isolated location
  3. Lack of a noise impact assessment

The inquiry, expected to last for 2 days, will be held at the Council Offices, Wood Green, Witney, OX28 1NB starting at 10am.  A Government Planning Inspector will preside over the inquiry.

Members of the public may attend the inquiry and express their view – at the discretion of the inspector.
