Planning by the web

Residents in south Warwickshire are being offered a new planning facility from their local council as part of a programme of improving access to services. Planning applications  to Stratford-on-Avon District Council can now be submitted through the internet which will save on both the time and cost of creating and posting large quantities of paper plans.

"With more and more everyday activities being conducted over the internet, I'm sure this new service will prove useful to all our residents and businesses," said Cllr Stuart Beese, the council's portfolio holder for planning.

"It will also be possible to search current applications and planning histories of sites via the internet, and members of the public will be able to view part of our planning database, including information on applications as far back as 1974.

"Our website now includes a long list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) and by the end of the year further improvements will enable the public to view all new applications together with plans, reports, correspondence and other information."
