Three candidates will be contesting the seat at the Alcester ward for Stratford-on-Avon District Council on Thursday 24 August.  

The polling stations will be open from 7am until 10pm.  

The by-election follows the resignation of Clifford Meade (Lib Dem) in June.  

The candidates are:          
Susan Elizabeth Adams (Conservative)
Karyl Arlene Rees (Liberal Democrat)
Matthew Squire Stephens (Labour)  

The electorate for the Alcester ward is 4694. Turnout for the last contested election at Alcester was 39.16%.  

The count for the Alcester by-election will be held at The Memorial Hall, The Greig Centre Kinwarton Road, Alcester after polls close at 10pm.  

The current political make-up of the District Council's 53 seats is:          
Conservatives - 30          
Liberal Democrats  - 19 seats          
Independents - 3          
Vacancy - 1 (Alcester)
