Stratford-upon-Avon welcomes buskers to the town. Many entertainers who play in the town are colourful, exciting, accomplished and good fun, and are enjoyed by the thousands of people who live locally or visit the town throughout the summer months.
A busker's code has been written to encourage a vibrant street performance scene that does not cause annoyance or inconvenience to other buskers or members of the public and businesses who might be disturbed by your music. Please busk responsibly, without causing nuisance and annoyance to others. Please visit Stratforward's busking page to read the busker's code.
To sell any products on the street whilst you are busking, such as CDs, a street trading consent is required; otherwise, you commit an offence by exposing them for sale, and with every sale you make. Please see our street trading pages to find out how you can run that part of your business lawfully.
If you are being disturbed by a busker, first approach them and explain politely that you are being troubled by the noise or activity. Buskers are often unaware of any problems they are causing and will be glad to do what they can to help.
If the problem persists, please contact streetentertainment@stratford-dc.gov.uk.
A Town Host may then visit the busker to explain the guidelines.
