Empty Properties

We are committed in reducing the number of empty properties across the District. Empty properties can have a detrimental effect on the environment and when left unoccupied for long periods of time can cause problems for the local community and their owners.

Properties may be empty for a number of reasons. You may be waiting the outcome of probate, have insufficient funds or experience to undertake repairs needed, or be unsure on the procedure to let your property.

As a local authority our approach to empty properties follows three simple steps:

  • Indentify
  • Encourage
  • Enforce

To support the return of empty property back into use, Stratford-on-Avon District Council are able to assist you in the following ways:

Renovating an Empty Property

Guidance and considerations when returning your empty property back into use.
