Further Electoral Review 2013/14

At its meeting on 17 December the Council resolved (minute 583) to change the electoral cycle from thirds to all-out with effect from May 2015.

In addition to this a submission was made to the Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) to review the number of members elected to the Council and the wards they represent.

The Commission's final recommendations propose that Stratford-on-Avon should be represented by 36 councillors in the future: seventeen fewer than the current arrangements. The recommendations also propose that those councillors should represent 36 single-member wards across the district.

There are a few minor changes to the draft recommendations and due to the boundary changes at District level means some Parishes need to be warded or re-warded. Full information is contained the Commissions report on the right hand side of this page.

The proposed new arrangements have now been implemented by Parliament. The new electoral arrangements will come into effect for the May elections in 2015

Maps and further information on the process can be found at the Commissions website:
