The Community Safety service at Stratford-on-Avon District Council is proposing to undertake a CCTV project within the Meon Vale area available through s106 funding. This will involve three new public space CCTV camera's locations. The purpose of these cameras will be to detect and prevent crime and provide community reassurance. The CCTV cameras would be Pan/Tilt/Zoom enabled and will be recording 24 hours per day and monitored by the British Standard 7958 accredited CCTV Department at Stratford-on-Avon District Council. This is standard is annually renewed, and all CCTV monitored by Stratford on Avon District Council is done so by trained and fully licensed CCTV operators. The team have direct contact with the Warwickshire Police Control room and police officers on the ground. The CCTV cameras would be programmed with privacy zones in place. This means that for areas of private property such as windows/balconies on all properties that maybe viewable from the camera these would be digitally blocked out so that CCTV operators cannot see these areas. The following locations for CCTV are being considered for Site One- Lighting Column Campden Road, Meon Vale This CCTV camera would be sited on a lighting column on Campden Road at the Traffic Island with Wellington Avenue. Please see the attached map:
