Street Care & Cleaning

Street Care

The inspection, maintenance and repair of the highway (including carriageway, footpath and highway verges) are the responsibility of Warwickshire County Council.

Street Cleaning

Regular routine cleansing work is carried out to ensure that the Environmental Protection Act 1990 standards are complied with, including;

• Mechanical gutter sweeping five times per year (kerbed roads only);
• Pavement sweeping in shopping areas;
• Regular road and pavement litter picking every four weeks;
• Litter bin emptying weekly;
• Removal of roadside fly tipping as and when reported;
• Treatment of pavement weeds on behalf of Warwickshire County Council on request only;
• Removal of dead animals from the public highway once reported.

Littering

Dropping litter is a crime. Since the Environmental protection act introduced in 1990, littering offenses can be punished with a fine of up to £2,500. Whilst causing an eyesoar, litter can also be harmful to your health and the environent.
