Stratford Card

coming soon...

A replacement for the popular card park system in Stratford District Councils Pay and Display Car Parks will soon be available from Stratford on Avon District Council.

What is Stratford Card?

Stratford Card is a card that can be purchased by any person for a one-off fee of £2.00

What does Stratford Card do?

Stratford Card allows you to preload credit on to the card. This will then enable use of the Stratford Card in any of the Stratford District Council town centre pay and display car parks.

How does that work?

When you purchase your card for £2.00 there is no monetary value on it. You then decide how much value you want to place on the card.

Are there any special deals?

Yes! Every time you place credit on your card you will be given a 25% bonus. For example:

  • You spend £10.00
  • Stratford District Council gives you a bonus of £2.50
  • Your card now has a value of £12.50

Is there a restriction on the amount of value that I can purchase?

Yes! There is an annual limit of £400. The reason for this is that with the 25% bonus bringing the amount of value on the card to £500, the customer would be better advised to purchase an annual season ticket for £500, giving the customer unlimited parking in a car park.

How do I use the card?

To purchase a pay and display ticket using your Stratford Card, please follow these instructions:

  • Select appropriate tariff
  • Accept conditions of use
  • Present Stratford Card to the card reader
  • Pay and display ticket will be issued

Detailed instructions for using the Stratford Card are clearly marked on the pay and display machines. An instruction card will also be issued with the card at the time of purchase.

Who can buy a card?

Any person who is using the car parks!

Where can I buy one?

Stratford Cards will only be available for purchase from Elizabeth House, Church Street, Stratford upon Avon. We do plan to eventually have the facility available in the area offices, but this will be in the future.

What happens if I lose my card?

If your card is lost then you should report it to this office as soon as possible as the machines are updated twice daily. The loss needs to be reported to this office in order for us to inform the system that the card needs to be stopped. Any uses on the card prior to these updates are unable to be recompensed. However, once the card has been successfully stopped, we will then be able to issue a new card with the remaining value. Please note however, that you will need to pay the £2.00 charge for the replacement card. Refunds will not be issued on the cards; we are only able to issue a replacement.

So how do the Civil Enforcement Officers know that I have prepaid my parking?

You still need to clearly display a pay and display ticket. The Stratford Card allows you to purchase a pay and display ticket from a pay and display machine. Just because you have preloaded the card, does not mean that your parking is automatically paid for. Any vehicle parked in the car parks without clearly displaying a valid pay and display ticket or permit may be liable to the issue of a Penalty Charge Notice.
