Our district has a number of parking arrangements. In this section you will find details of the car parks that are run by Stratford-on-Avon District Council, the on-street parking arrangements we enforce as well as residents parking in some of the towns which require permits.
The council is a member of the Parking and Traffic Regulations Outside London (PATROL) Adjudication Joint Committee. The Joint Committee publishes an Annual Statement of Accounts which is subject to External Audit and the arrangements and timetable for 2009/10. You can view this on the PATROL website

Traffic Management Act 2004
Changes to the way Stratford District Council enforced parking regulations came into effect on 31 March 2008, in line with the Government's long awaited Civil Enforcement Regulations. The new regulations, which form Part 6 of the Traffic Management Act 2004, are the biggest change to parking enforcement in England and Wales for many years. Under the new regulations this activity became known as Civil Parking Enforcement (CPE) and Parking Attendants became known as Civil Enforcement Officers (CEO's). There are now two levels of Penalty Charges, depending on the severity of contraventions.
New Tariff's for Penalty Charge Notices (PCN's)
| Higher tariff for more serious contraventions |

Currently, over 50% of Penalty Charge Notices issued in Stratford District fall into the less serious category and so many people in the district who fall foul of parking regulations will be paying less. The regulations, which cover on street and off street parking, aim to make parking fairer and more transparent, and provide motorists with a consistent service across the country. Preparations included a full review of local parking orders, road markings and traffic signs to ensure they complied with the new regulations; changes were also made to IT systems, uniforms, printed stationery and staff training.
