Disabled Badges

Misuse of Disabled Badges

Section 94 of the Traffic Management Act 2004 give authorised officers powers to inspect Blue Disabled Badges when the parking concessions under the scheme are being used or contravened. Authorised officers can be police officers, traffic wardens, civil enforcement officers.

Offences can be broken down into at least three broad categories;

The holder deliberately misusing the badge
A person other than the badge holder misusing the badge
A person using a stolen or fraudulently altered badge or a fraudulently created document designed to look like a badge
